Embroidery as a Form of writing (ongoing) — Bookdesign
This ongoing research project explores embroidered edges as early forms of inscription, learning, and cultural memory. Drawing on the tradition of textile samplers, the work examines how stitches function as marks of literacy, discipline, and identity. By focusing on borders and margins, it reveals embroidery as a parallel writing system in which thread becomes line and knowledge is formed through repetition. Through archival research and material experimentation, the project reframes domestic needlework as a medium of memory and subtle intellectual practice, a space where learning and making intertwine, stitch by stitch.
